Editorial Policy

Gandiv Live is committed to providing factual, fair, and independent journalism focused primarily on Jharkhand, Bihar, and relevant national affairs. This Editorial Policy serves as the guiding document for all our journalists, editors, and content contributors, ensuring we uphold the highest standards of professional conduct and public trust.

1. Core Principles of Reporting

A. Accuracy and Verification

  • Fact-Checking: Pre-publication verification is mandatory. Every piece of content must be fact-checked using reliable, primary sources (official documents, direct interviews, expert analysis).
  • Corrections: We are accountable for our mistakes. If a significant inaccuracy is published, we will correct it promptly, prominently, and transparently, and update the article with a clear note indicating the change.
  • Date of Update: All articles that have been substantially updated or corrected will carry a clear “Last Updated” date to maintain transparency.

B. Fairness, Balance, and Independence

  • Impartiality: Our reporting is free from political, commercial, or personal bias. We will not allow advertiser or investor interests to influence our editorial decisions.
  • Right of Reply: News reports concerning allegations against any person or party must include, or seek to include, their comment or version of events. If a response is received after publication, it must be promptly incorporated into the article.
  • Distinguishing Content: All editorial content (news reports) must be clearly separated from opinion columns, sponsored content, and advertisements. Sponsored content will be explicitly labeled as “Advertisement” or “Partner Content.”

2. Responsible Content Practices

A. Respect for Privacy and Dignity

  • Privacy: We respect the privacy of individuals, especially those who are not public figures. Intrusion into a person’s private life is only justifiable when there is an overriding public interest.
  • Sensitive Reporting: Special care and restraint will be exercised when reporting on victims of sexual assault, minors, health crises, or personal tragedies. Names, photographs, or identifying details of victims of sensitive crimes will be avoided unless legally mandated or if approved by an editor.

B. Reporting on Crime and Law

  • Presumption of Innocence: We maintain the presumption of innocence. Crime reports must be based on facts, avoiding speculation, sensationalism, or comments on evidence or the guilt of the accused before a formal judgment.
  • Communal Harmony: Reporting on communal or religious disputes will be published only after proper verification and presented with caution to promote harmony and peace.

C. Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI)

  • Human Oversight: While AI tools may be used for preliminary research, data processing, or translation, no content will be published without final review, editing, and validation by a human journalist.
  • Expert Vetting: Content generated at scale will be strictly limited to non-expert topics or used only as background information. Expert-led content (e.g., Finance, Law, Health) must be written and vetted by journalists with verifiable E-E-A-T (Expertise, Experience, Authority, Trustworthiness), such as Amarkant Singh.

3. Accountability and Compliance

A. Compliance with Law

  • Gandiv Live adheres to all laws of the land, including the Constitution of India, the Indian Penal Code (IPC), the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC), the Copyright Act, 1957, and the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021.

B. Grievance Redressal Mechanism

  • We maintain a clear and accessible Grievance Redressal Mechanism for all complaints regarding published content.
  • Grievance Officer: We have appointed a designated Grievance Officer, whose contact details are publicly available on our Contact Us page.
  • Timely Action: The Grievance Officer is obligated to acknowledge any complaint within 24 hours and endeavor to resolve it within 15 days of receipt.

C. Intellectual Property

  • We respect copyright and trademarks. Any third-party copyrighted material used on our platform must be properly licensed or fall under the provisions of Fair Use (such as news reporting, criticism, or commentary).

This Editorial Policy is a living document and may be updated to reflect changes in legal or industry standards. We invite our readers to hold us accountable to these standards.
